Submission Guidelines Back to Top All Things Aqua Is there anybody out there who doesn’t like the color aqua? A bit blue, a bit green … there’s just something about it that makes everyone love it. Perhaps it’s ability to go well with so many colors. From red to mustard yellow to shades of gray, whatever you pair it with is sure to create an eye-catching color palette. For the January 2013 issue of Somerset Studio, we’re asking you to create artwork that incorporates the color aqua in it. We’re looking for cards, mixed-media canvases, assemblages, art journals and more, all filled with this fantastic color. Deadline: August 15, 2012. A Touch of Whimsy We’ve been delighted with one of the newest trends popping up in mixed-media artwork: whimsy! You can’t help but love the fun color palettes — pastel blues, pinks, and greens — paired with playful focal images. Bits of glitter and doodling, here and there, are grabbing our attention. For the March/April 2013 issue of Somerset Studio, we’re asking for you to create whimsical artwork. We want for you to have fun and play around with your art and add bits of whimsy. Deadline: October 15, 2012. Movie Magic Everyone loves movies. Whether you prefer classics, Hollywood blockbusters, or light-hearted children's films, we all love turning on a movie to escape for a bit. Some we watch for a laugh, some for a scare, and others we watch because we need to be inspired. For the May/June 2013 issue of Somerset Studio, we’re asking for you to dig through that movie collection of yours, pick a favorite, and allow it to inspire you to create some amazing artwork. For me, I’ll be popping Amelie in the DVD player and seeing where it takes me. I can’t wait to see where your selection takes you. Deadline: We must receive your artwork by December 15, 2012.
